On April 10, Benjamin was detained by ICE while he was out training for an upcoming marathon. He was immediately transferred to B18 in Downtown Los Angeles – the ICE processing center where thousands of immigrants come through every week before being transferred to detention centers in or outside California, or being deported to countries they have not been to in many years.

My name is David, and I am Undocumented and Unafraid
On June 21st 2008, at the age of fifteen, I left my home country of El Salvador, and I started my journey to the United States. The journey was a nightmare and lasted for about a month. I crossed the border alone, surrounded by other people that were trying to do just the same.
I vividly remember that we started our journey around 6:00 AM, walking through the desert, and by 12:00 PM we had run out of water. At night, we found some water that was apparently used for the cows, and I drank some of it. It was horrible. I could feel dirt going through my esophagus. I finally fell asleep in the bushes around 1:00 AM, but when I woke up two hours later, the temperature…

National Undocumented Youth Convening in Alabama
On October 19th several organizers working in collaboration with DreamActivist.org arrived in Alabama to support local efforts under way after the passage of the harshest immigration legislation in the nation. HB56 went into effect on September 1st, much of the law has been enjoined by the courts however the sentiments of the law are still very much in effect.
Just outside of Birmingham, there are entire communities who are being terrorized by ICE, the police and their own neighbors. Kids are being asked by other kids wether they have papers, and in some cases being told “go back to Mexico” just because of the color of their skins.
As undocumented youth who live in a state where we…
Time is running out! Sign the CA Dream Act Petition NOW!
Time is running out! Sign the California Dream Act petition and urge Gov. Brown to sign AB131, the real CA Dream Act immediately. He has until October 9th to sign the bill or let it die once more.
The CA DREAM Act was first introduced in 2006. It would allow qualifying undocumented college students to apply for institutional financial aid and Cal Grants from the University of California, California State University and Community Colleges.
The bill has previously passed in the California state legislature, but it has always been vetoed by our former Governor. Thanks to your hard work and support, AB131 passed the Assembly and the Senate, a task that seemed nearly impossible just a few…
Are you undocumented and facing deportation?
Are you undocumented and facing deportation?
Let us know about your case so we can see if you qualify to be an END candidate.
Education Not Deportation (“END”) is a national campaign to prevent the deportations of young people, thereby allowing immigrant youth to continue their lives in the United States, pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.
We know that this can be a very daunting situation, but we want to make sure you know that not all hope is lost. Members of DreamActivist California have worked side by side with youth from all parts of the country to successfully stop the deportation of undocumented youth for the past two years.
We know that despite…
Meet the North Carolina 7. Help us bail them out!
On Tuesday September 6th, the same day that the Democratic National Convention was launched in North Carolina, 10 undocumented youth were arrested. Seven of them – Alicia, Santiago, Angelica, Manuel, Martin, Cynthia, and Marco openly declared their status and risked arrest by participating in a peaceful, civil disobedience. After the NC7 were arrested, 3 other undocumented youth, Viridiana Martinez from North Carolina, Isabel Castillo from Virginia, and Mohammad Abdollahi from Michigan were also arrested along with 5 allies.
Now, more than ever, we need your help! We need donations to cover bail, attorney fees, and other various legal expenses.
These 10 youth, are still in custody and are facing possible deportation, and they did it all to empower their fellow undocumented youth to drop the fear. By supporting…
5 Undocumented Youth Risk Arrest and Deportation
Today, five undocumented youth took a stand against Secure Communities, a failed program by ICE and the Obama Administration that has deported thousands and thousands of hard working people, including undocumented youth like the five who risked it all.
Stephanie, Ruben, Alma, Luis, and Miriam did a “sit-in” inside B-18, the ICE processing center where thousands of undocumented people have been held, processed and sent to ICE detention centers in California and other states. These brave youth were detained for demanding an immediate END to Secure Communities, the deportation machine of the Department of Homeland Security and the Obama Administration.
